Polyethylene Jointing Course

The full course duration is 2 Days:

  • Day 1 – DKO Electrofusion theory and practical – $485.00 + GST
  • Day 2 – DKO Butt Fusion theory and practical – $485.00 + GST

On having been assessed as fully competent you will be issued with a jointing card and personalised welding number which is valid for 2 years.

Unit Standards:

We offer the following Unit Standards that are Water Industry and NZQA recognised:

Unit Standard 10980 – Perform Electrofusion Jointing on Polyethylene Pipe for a Network – Level 4 qualification – 6 credits (Day 1).

Additional costs for credit reporting & Mito paperwork $65.00 + GST.  Jointing card issued on completion,  and

Unit Standard 10987 – Perform Butt Fusion Jointing on Polyethylene Pipe for a Network – Level 4 qualification – 6 credits (Day 2 – if butt fusion required).

Additional costs for credit reporting & Mito paperwork $65.00 + GST.   Jointing card issued on completion.

These are options for candidates not in signed Connexis Training Agreements, but still require a Unit Standard qualification or recognised qualifications to complete Electrofusion or Butt Fusion on infrastructure work sites.

Unit Standard 31532 – Demonstrate Knowledge of Fusion Jointing of Polyethylene Pipes for Water Networks – Level 4 qualification – 5 credits.

Attendance on both Days 1 & 2 required for this additional Unit Standard to be achieved.

Unit Standard 31532 is a pre-requisite to the two Unit Standards below.

Unit Standard 31525 – Carry Out Electrofusion Jointing on Polyethylene Pipes for Water Networks – Level 4 – 10 credits, and

Unit Standard 31524 – Carry out Butt Fusion Jointing on Polyethylene Pipes for Water Networks – Level 4 – 10 credits.

Both these 2 Unit Standards require evidence gathered from your worksites and submitted for assessment.  On successfully completing these Unit Standard(s), a jointing card will be issued.  Price on application.

Underground Cable & Utility Locator Course

Do you know what is below the foot path before you start digging? Many people are injured each year as a result of damaging underground cables while working on the road.

This course will teach you to use Radiodetection pipeline and cable location equipment to safely identify services prior to excavation.

Course duration is approximately 2 hours. 1 hour theory and 1 hour practical.
