This course will teach you to use Radiodetection pipeline and cable location equipment to safely identify services prior to excavation.

Learning on Location
Our experts are at your side wherever you are, and conduct practical training for on-site pipe and cable location. We’re looking to protect infrastructure, and to protect operators and public near excavation works.
The Training objectives are:
- To understand Health & Safety responsibilities
- To understand and apply all issues relating to Utility Plans
- Correct use of Pipe & Cable Location Equipment to avoid underground asset strikes
- Complete a practical demonstration of Pipe and Cable Location Equipment.

Personnel involved in the utilities construction sector. It is recommended for Contractors, Engineers, Local Authorities and Consultants.
What is covered?
This course covers the knowledge and skills required to properly use pipeline and cable locating devices.
It explains the requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 in relation to identifying and managing hazards.
Practical assessment
Practical assessment is carried out at the training facility and covers the following;
- Use of the CAT to identify services with a passive signal.
- Use of Cat and Genny on metallic services.
- Use of CAT and Genny on non-metallic services.

Our trainer comes with extensive locator experience:
Tony Wall: Operates his own contracting business and has conducted training sessions for gas and water distribution industries for the last 15 years.
Course cost
- Radio-detection CAT & Genny location course $125.00 excl. GST per person.
- Fees payable 2 weeks in advance of attendance.
Course will only run when at least 8 people are attending for each Session.
Venue

The practical part of the course will be conducted in a real environment to properly show and experience the operation of this equipment.
